The France left-back suggests that the ousted manager has to shoulder a large portion of the blame after the club performed poorly in the league and lost the FA Cup final to Wigan
Manchester City left-back Gael Clichy believes Roberto Mancini must take the blame for the club's failure to retain the Premier League title last season.Mancini was sacked on May 13, two days after City lost the FA Cup final to Wigan and with the club finishing 11 points behind champions Manchester United in the table.

And Clichy says the Italian only had himself to blame, though he did admit the players also underperformed.
"[Mancini] is the manager and you have to take responsibility," he told reporters on the club's post-season trip to the United States. "The manager is there to make the choices. Of course, when results are good it is all down to the manager. When the results are not so good, it is also down to him.
"We have to be aware that he was probably at fault for this, but as players we also have to take responsibility and also know that we didn't perform — whether we played three, four or six at the back. That doesn’t matter, you have to give 100 per cent and sometimes this year we didn't give anything.
"As a player I am not asking too many questions because if you perform on the pitch everyone will be happy. We have to take responsibility for this season and yes, probably, it's because of the manager that we haven’t won anything, because he's the man in charge, but also because of us as players.
"The chairman [Khaldoon Al Mubarak] made the decision to call a stop to it, you have to respect it."
City are currently in New York ahead of Thursday's friendly against Chelsea in St Louis
