Olamide and MI’s N10m chairman song

Jude ‘MI’ Abaga

The latest gist about one of the shortest rapper in Nigeria, MI, is his song, Chairman. It has been a hot topic of discussion since its release. The video of the song is even bigger because the rapper succeeded in ‘swagging’ it. From the beautiful video girls to the planes and fast cars, the video is definitely something to talk about. And his costumes… who ever propped MI Abaga certainly did a good job.

However, Saturday Beats gathered there is a rumour spreading round town that the song was to counter a diss from fast-rising indigenous rapper Olamide. In one of Olamide’s songs, he made mention of a certain ‘chairman’ in his song, Owotabua, telling him to take it easy and calm down. Although he could not be reached as at writing this report, MI’s camp has debunked the rumour, calling it ‘cheap and impossible’.
MI’s publicist, Oma Areh of Wild Flower PR, told Saturday Beats that it was impossible for MI to spend about N10m on a video and so much energy on a song to respond to a diss.
She said, “MI spent about N10m on the video. He shot it in Los Angeles and they used two mansions, a private jet and various fancy cars. It took them three days to shoot the video. It is impossible for MI to diss Olamide, who said that?  That is too cheap and impossible. It is not remotely possible.
