Don’t expect Eagles to win Confed Cup – Chukwu, Iroha

The inclusion of eight players from the domestic league in Nigeria’s Confederations Cup campaign has been hailed by former Super Eagles player, Ben Iroha who said, “it is good for them,” adding, “they should just go there and have fun although, national pride is at stake.”
Iroha, however, said, “the exposure will be worthwhile, particularly for the home-based players.”

For former Super Eagles coach Christian Chukwu, Nigerians should not expect the Eagles to win the Confederation Cup in Brazil. “No. I am not expecting us to win but it will be a useful experience for the team  in the World Cup campaign,” he said.
He praised the team under Keshi, saying, “their victory in Nairobi has reinforced the people’s belief in them.”
The former national team captain said “I will like us to focus on 2014 World Cup. We cannot afford to miss it.”
Chukwu was full of praise for the Eagles who he described as improving with every match. “They have done well so far. I am happy they were able to maintain our record against Kenya.”
