Real Madrid stand firm on Ancelotti

Real Madrid remain determined to appoint current Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti despite the Ligue 1 champions' resistance and are not looking at other options.

The 53-year-old has told his employers that he wants to leave the club for the Bernabeu this summer, but the French giants have made it clear that they will not let him go without putting up a fight.

They are keen to hold on to the former Chelsea manager and have warned Madrid that they will have to meet their demands if they want to secure the services of Ancelotti.

PSG's stance on the Italian had fueled speculation that Madrid could turn their attention to another coach, with Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes supposedly one of the candidates to take Jose Mourinho's place.

Nevertheless, los Blancos are not looking at alternatives as they are confident that PSG will eventually let go of Ancelotti.

"Ancelotti wants to leave PSG," a Madrid source told Goal as the capital club continue to try and lure the Italian coach to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

The former AC Milan coach has been in charge of PSG since December 2011 and guided them to their first Ligue 1 title since 1993-94 this season. Real Madrid stand firm on Ancelotti
