The Blues boss has confirmed his side have made an official bid for the England international and says the club are focusing their attentions solely on the striker
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is the club's only transfer target this summer.
The Premier League champions have rejected an opening bid from the Blues for the striker and insist he is not for sale, with the two clubs at odds over whether players were involved in the bid.

"I think that this situation is clear - nothing is a secret anymore," he told reporters.
"The official bid is just about a certain amount of money and doesn't involve players.
"We want the player. We made the bid and now we have nothing more to say.
"Now it's up to Manchester United."
The Chelsea boss was then asked if the club had made other bids, to which Mourinho replied: "No, and we won't."
He was then asked whether it is now "Rooney or bust", replying: "yes."
Rooney's future at Old Trafford has been up in the air since Sir Alex Ferguson revealed he had asked to leave the club, while Mourinho had previously implored the wantaway striker to "do what makes him happy".
