President Goodluck Jonathan has called
on intending Christian Pilgrims to pray for a safe return of the abducted
Chibok school girls and also for a peaceful and successful conduct of the 2015 elections.
The Senate President, David Mark
who was representing the president made this call yesterday at the inauguration
of the 2014 Christian Pilgrimage, in Abuja as the first batch of 250 Christian
pilgrims were getting ready to leave for Israel, Rome and Greece.
In another news, the Federal Government
also announced yesterday that, the Government has used over N1.5 billion on the
provision of relief materials to people displaced by activities of insurgents
in three Northern states in Nigeria.
Muhammed Kanar, the Coordinator,
National Emergency Management Agency, North-East Zone, told the News Agency of
Nigeria that the materials were distributed by the committee inaugurated by
President Goodluck Jonathan.
But sadly, despite the ceasefire the Nigerian government announced it
reached with the Boko Haram sect, deadly attacks on remote communities by the
group have continued in Borno State.
