Atletico Madrid: We have not received any offers for Falcao

Falcao's next destination has been the subject of intense speculation

Atletico Madrid chief Miguel Angel Gil Marin has insisted that they have not received any official offers yet for star striker Radamel Falcao.

The Copa del Rey winners indicated earlier this week that they will not stand in the way of the Colombia international should he decide to move in the summer, with Falcao widely expected to complete his €60 million transfer to Monaco in the coming weeks after he previously appeared to be on his way to Chelsea.

Nevertheless, Atletico have made it clear that they still await a formal approach from the Ligue 1 side, or any other interested party.

"Atletico have officially not received any offers for Falcao, be it from Monaco or Chelsea," Gil Marin told Goal.

"There are many clubs that are interested in him. The club will allow the player to talk to anyone and will respect any decision that he takes.

"In the end, he is free to make his choice."
A number of recent reports claimed that Manchester City could hijack Monaco's move for the 27-year-old, but the club's CEO remained coy on whether the Premier League side are interested in signing Falcao.
"City? I can’t comment on it. Let’s leave the decision to the player."

Falcao, meanwhile, has stressed that he remains an Atletico Madrid player - for now at least.
"If you believe what is being reported, I have already signed for half the clubs in Europe: Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid," Falcao told reporters.

"Last year, before the [Europa League] final in Bucharest [against Athletic Bilbao], people said I was going to leave and that the club didn't have the budget to keep me.

"All I can say is that I have a contract with Atletico and everything else is speculation."

Falcao has a contract with the Primera Division side until June 2016.
