Janet Jackson is already on the "music legends" list, but she's also joined another sought after collective: the billionaire club. Jackson has made over a $1,000,000,000 throughout her career.
The 47-year-old brought in the big bucks, not for being married to billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana, but her own hard work. According to a Variety report, she made $81 million from music and publishing, $458 million in global tour revenue, $60 million for tour sponsorships, $260 million in record sales, $304 for her film work, and $21.5 million in licensing.
Although Jackson is being reported as a billionaire, Forbes points out that how much money she's made over the years doesn't necessarily dictate current personal net worth. "Net worth is based on the value of the cash and assets you have at the moment, not on how much your work has brought in over a lifetime," noted Dorothy Pomerantz.
The superstar hasn't confirmed or denied the billionaire status, which likely means that she's so rich that it really doesn't matter. Aside from her own money, the singer's husband adds to her net worth so she's technically a billionaire either way.
